 Oakmoss (Evernia prunastri) 

Historicallyoakmoss oil was used by Native Americans to speed up healing of wounds and continues to be used in this manner thanks to its anti-septic properties.

Oakmoss oil can be used in a number of ways including as an addition to soaps when its anti-bacterial and anti-septic properties are most effective. It can be added to creams and lotions for use externally to combat various skin conditions and it can be blended for use as a massage. Oakmoss oil is also effective when used in potpourri, incense, aromatherapy and as an air freshener.

Oakmoss is used in perfumery and the creation of high end fragrances as a fixative and for it's earthy, base aroma.

Pregnant women and breast-feeding mother are also advised to not use it.
It's a viscous oil that can require gentle warming before use, especially in colder weather.
Oakmoss essential oil blends well with lavender, cypress, geranium, patchouli and citrus oils.
